Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is slated to hit the shelves on September 1. The date was confirmed by Russian tipster Eldar Murtazin who has quite a decent track record as far as Samsung leaks are concerned.

The speculated release date is in sync with the IFA 2016 slated to take place in Berlin from September 2 to September 7. Murtazin hinted a September 1 release date for the Galaxy Tab S3 which is just a day before the event kicks off. However, the Russian leaker did not divulge details regarding the basis for his assumption.

Successor of the previous Tab S2, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will reportedly cling to the same 4:3 aspect ratio that grabbed a lot of attention, Android Authority reported.

The past month a slew of leaks of press renders surfaced online for the aforementioned tablet. However, rumor mills have not swirled a lot of speculations surrounding the Galaxy Tab S3, which also hint a 2016 release may not be in the offing.

That being said, a source previously spilled the beans about an array of specifications for the Tab S3 including a mammoth 8-inch display coupled with 1,536 x 2,048 pixels. The device will be powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 652 processor and boast 3 GB RAM, and a considerable 32 GB internal storage. In terms of camera, the Galaxy Tab S3 will come with an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front snapper. The device will reportedly pack a robust 4,000 mAh battery.

Some reports on the other hand suggest that the South Korean tech firm will skip the Galaxy Tab S3 and unveil its Gear S3 smartwatch instead. Nevertheless, one of these two devices will be released on September 1, SamMobile reported.

Not too long ago, a slew of images of the Gear S3 surfaced online showing the smartwatch was made of metal and resembled the 36mm Rolex Datejust 2. In fact, quite a few of its features were identical to a Rolex watch which actually made the images flimsy, the report added.

In terms of specs, the Samsung Gear S2 featured a 1.2-inch display, however it is still not confirmed if the purported Gear S3 will retain the same size.

It looks like avid Samsung Gear fans will have to wait with bated breath for the South Korean tech giant to either confirm or debunk these speculation, until then it is recommended to take these rumors with a grain of salt.
