'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' Release Date: Director Tetsuya Nomura Promises Big Announcement To Come Out!
ByDespite the fact "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" was announced in 2015, it looks like players are in for a really long wait for the installment to hit the shelves.
The highly-anticipated remake of 1997's "Final Fantasy 7" is slated to make an appearance soon. While the Final Fantasy's huge fanbase waited with bated breath for the title's debut, Square Enix finally announced the game during E3 last year.
The game will reportedly be divided in to a slew of episodes that will be unveiled at different times.
Although the team behind the game has not yet not divulged the release date of the first episode, rumors are rampant that the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" release date will be sometime in 2017, TheBitBag reported.
Square Enix did not unveil the much-awaited title at this year's E3; however it is obvious if the studio decides to reveal any info about the game, it will be nothing short of massive.
During an interview with Famitsu (via KH Insider), creative director Tetsuya Nomura opened up about his upcoming projects in collaboration with the studio including "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8," "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy VII Remake."
Although Nomura noted that the remake is developing well, he did not divulge any new information.
Nomura stated he had no idea when the studio intends to disclose any info about the remake; he wants to ensure it's a major blowout - apparently getting its own Active Time Report (ATR) event - instead of periodically revealing some of the game's features, according to VineReport.
If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, the studio may opt to reveal game details in their upcoming events including the "Dissidia Final Fantasy Tournament" and "Kingdom Hearts First Breath" concert, both slated to take place in August.
The title will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on January 31 next year (the game was launched in 1997).
The studio might decide to take advantage of this anniversary as the right time for the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" release date considering it's a day that fans have correlated with the title.
That said, in case the studio does not release the game exactly on January 31, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" might debut sometime close to that date instead.
