Johnny Manziel may want to be the number one overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, but it may not actually be the best destination for him, his family says.

Don Banks reported for Sports Illustrated Manziel's family feels like playing in Houston will not allow him from shedding his "Johnny Football" moniker. Leading up to the draft, Manziel said he wants to leave the nickname behind because it reminds him of an immature version of himself.

He has said he wants to continue playing his entire football career - high school, college and professional - in his home state of Texas. Banks says his family, however, feels he will not be able to do that in Houston.

The Texans may not even be considering Manziel anymore. Banks reported the Texans are split between Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack and South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. While Clowney is an elite pass rushing prospect, Mack fits better in the Texans' 3-4 defensive scheme.

With the St. Louis Rams heavily favored to take Greg Robinson, the offensive tackle from Auburn, the Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly leaning toward taking Manziel third overall, a move he is rumored to not be thrilled about. An NFL reporter for the Houston Chronicle, John McClain reported that Jacksonville media outlets see Manziel as a near-lock for the Jaguars.

Banks also reported Houston may want to trade down from the top pick, but are not finding willing partners. Another team looking to trade down are the Minnesota Vikings, who have the eighth pick. The teams most likely willing to trade into the top 10 are the New York Giants (12th pick) and the Dallas Cowboys (16th pick).

It is unclear if the Cowboys would take Manziel should they move into the eighth spot and if he is available. Banks reported the Cowboys are high on Aaron Donald, the defensive tackle from Pittsburgh.
