International students in the Colorado College (CC) are encouraged to return to campus before January 20, 2025, which is the spring semester and the date that coincides with the US Presidential Inauguration Day of the Trump Administration.

With this announcement, CC wants to ensure that its international students, who hold F-1 and J-1 visas, avoid any potential disruptions that may arise due to new immigration policies that might come into effect.

The college spokesperson said that beginning Block 5, which is the academic term, would coincide with the inauguration, KRDO reported. While CC does not envision the changes having an immediate effect, taking preventative measures will ensure the safe return of its international students. The school has been directly in touch with its international students and informed them to arrive on campus before January 20.

Call for International Students in Colorado College

According to KOAA News 5, there are around 110 international students, or 4.5% of the college's population. These students are an important part of the college's community, and their successful readmission back to campus remains a concern.

Apart from dealing with immediate worries, the college has reassured the students and families that they are closely monitoring any federal change that could affect visa holders. In particular, the school administration is keenly looking into the potential immigration policies which will affect their travel plans. As part of this, it reassures its commitment to students amid transitions.

As the semester comes to a close on December 18, international students can make their plans to return during the holiday break. In doing so, Colorado College is being forward-thinking and sensitive to its diverse student body by aligning its recommendations with the inauguration timeline.
