College of the Holy Cross students whose families make less than $100,000 per year will get a free ride to school, the institution announced on Wednesday.
The annual costs to attend the Massachusetts school, including tuition, housing, meal plan, health service and other fees, are approximately $85,000 without any financial aid, according to the school's website.
"One of Holy Cross's top priorities is to ensure that talented students from all backgrounds can access a Holy Cross education and be supported to flourish on our campus and beyond," Holy Cross President Vincent D. Rougeau told Masslive. "We are proud to deepen our commitment to expanding educational opportunities for more young people."
The new financial assistance program builds on the college's earlier policy of providing full tuition coverage for families earning under $75,000.
The school awarded $76.5 million in financial aid in 2023-24, with 65% students receiving need-based grants.
