‘Pokémon Go’ News: Niantic Updated ‘Pokémon Go’ Servers, Increased Spawn Rates; First Major ‘Pokemon Go’ Update Launches This Week [VIDEO]
ByNiantic Labs may have just amended one of the biggest sources of complaints of "Pokémon Go" players. The video game developer has updated the servers of the augmented reality game. Meanwhile, the game's first major update in 2017 is said to arrive this week.
The video game developer has updated the servers of the "Pokémon Go" mobile game. The update ultimately increased the spawn rates of pocket monsters in rural areas. "Pokémon Go" players in these spots have better chances to boost their Pokedex.
Nonetheless, one of the most glaring issues in the location-based augmented reality game was the deprived availability of gyms, items, as well as Pokémon creatures in rural areas, which makes the mobile game a bit uneven. But, after the server update, "Pokémon Go" players are reporting that there was an upward movement of 10 to 15 percent in Pokemon spawns, Game Rant reported.
In spite of that, players who kept track of the changes in "Pokémon Go" divulged that the 15-minute spawn rate per area has diminished, as the 30-minute spawn rate is in play, the creature remains in place between 30 minutes up to an hour. There's no official patch from the game developer yet, which means the exact tweaks and modifications in the mobile game are still unknown.
On the other hand, the first major update of "Pokémon Go" is expected to arrive this week. In the meantime, a new feature has been added to "Pokémon Go." Android device users can enter promo codes to redeem special items (such as Lure Modules, Poké Balls and Lucky Eggs) without paying them. Although the game developer has yet to make an official announcement regarding promo codes, the promo codes already appeared in a data mine of the game's earlier version. The promo codes can be redeemed through the in-game shop, Express reported.
