Now that the spring semester is almost over, college students definitely want to go out and have some fun. And today is going to be perfect for those who want to do a little unwinding before the final exams start, because today is the kickoff of the College Beach Weekend.

Beginning today, hundreds and thousands of college students will be flocking the Oceanfront at Virginia Beach for the College Beach Weekend, 13 News Now reported. This event is one of the biggest that is being held every year during the last week of April in the state. Schools from all over Virginia, as well as from other states gather together.

While not everyone is excited about it, local businesses are already waiting in anticipation. Olivia Brown, the assistant manager of Dr. Piercing said that they are already looking forward to more traffic for their business, because they know that a lot of students like body piercings. She also said that it means more money for them if they can bring in more perspective sales. And that they can do a lot to further push the business.

The Virginia Police departments is already preparing because they expect over 40 thousand college students to be coming over for the weekend, according to Pilot Online. Most of these young adults are going to be arriving on Friday night and will be staying in town through Sunday.

Aside from the college students that will be flooding the area for the weekend, there will also be a Christian music festival that will begin today in 24th Street Park. And then, a youth basketball tournament will be held in the Convention Center, while more guests will be drawn to the beach by the International Tattoo Festival.
