Xiaomi Mi 6 will launch next week but the official specs have been revealed. Mi 6 offers cutting-edge features but Nexus 6P as an older handset still packs the necessary punch.

Design and Display

Albeit the rather old age, Nexus 6P is still a relevant Android smartphone to be used today. The all-metal body packs a 5.7-inch screen, a Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass on top. The Nexus 6P sports the same screen to body ratio as Xiaomi Mi 6 but the latter has a lesser pixel density in its 5.15-inch screen.

Hardware and Software

Nexus 6P runs Android Marshmallow but Google has brought the latest Nougat 7.1.2 version to the device. When Xiaomi Mi 6 launches, it will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat, a tiny step behind the Nexus phone. The camera front in Xiaomi's upcoming flagship win big in number and quality. It has a dual-lens rear-facing camera - a 12MP sensor featuring 4-axis OIS, PDAF and dual LED flash. The Nexus 6P rocks 12.3MP rear shooter and 8MP selfie shooter.

There is a slight difference in the battery capacity as Nexus 6P comes with 3,450 mAh whilst Xiaomi Mi 6 has 3,350 mAh capacity. Other components found in both handsets include a fingerprint scanner and fast-charging battery feature.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 835 system on a chip whereas Nexus 6P uses the 810 series. On paper, Mi 6 performs faster than the Nexus 6P but the latter is still a powerhouse that lacking a few paces behind Xiaomi will not be a significant issue, Alphr reported.

As of the price, Xiaomi Mi 6 is an affordable piece of technology with only $365 price tag for the base model. This is a better value for money especially for consumers who plan to upgrade their old devices. It is worth to note that Nexus 6P is no longer available in the official stores but consumers can get the best bargain from second-hand sellers. Xiaomi Mi 6 will go on sale on April 28, Ars Technica reported.
