Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus did not make their appearance during the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona. Although the Chinese company has publicized that they are not participating in the event as early as January, the reason behind their absence remains unclear. Fast track April 2017, their release date remains hidden coupled with queries on its processor.

Meanwhile, its Korean counterpart, the Samsung Galaxy S8 series, has already made a grand debut and is expected to take over the smartphone market by mid-April. According to Android Authority, this circumstance could be the reason why Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus are being pushed back. Thus, the Xiaomi bandwagon release date is more likely to be released by the end of April or early May 2017.

If Xiaomi has subscribed to such speculation, Xiaomi Mi 6 series' launch depends on how the new Samsung models will impact the market. One major reason why their rival is being considered is the advent of Qualcomm SnapDragon 835 in the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 models. Also, the SnapDragon 821 tier is reportedly appearing on the said Xiaomi models, India Express reported.

Whether Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus will sport SnapDragon 835 processor or the SnapDragon 821 tier remains unclear but such question hints that the Chinese company is wary of their next move. Meanwhile, a new leak suggests that the 821 tier will power the initial Mi 6 models while the SnapDragon 835 will serve as an upgrade for the next production, India Express added.

On the other hand, exclusivity rights for SnapDragon 835 have been granted to Samsung Galaxy S8. The report noted that no other handset can sport the 835 tier unless Samsung debuted it first. Thus, Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus depend mostly on Samsung's commercial and legal advantage. Do you agree on this speculations? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
