Rock Howard
Producer Yasuyuki Oda revealed on the official blog of PlayStation the fourth paid character DLC for "The King of Fighters XIV," which is Rock Howard. This new character made his debut in the last chapter of the "Fatal Fury" game franchise titled "Garou: Mark of the Wolves." This will be his first appearance in the game franchise."
Overview
Rock Howard is actually the son of the crime lord and usual villain Geese Howard. He was adopted and raised by Terry Bogard from a young age. Players will see a unique combination of techniques from both Terry and Geese's attack styles.
Howard has his own variations on some moves from both of his fathers like Geese's Raging Storm and Terry's Buster Wolf. His counter move called Crack Counter is a combination of a reversal technique from Geese's Aikijutsu and Terry's attack called Crack Shoot.
By combining two styles into one, Howard becomes a well-rounded fighter. He sacrificed both Geese's dominating power and Terry's simple and direct style, and focused more on speed and versatility. This turned him into a unique character that stands on his own despite borrowing some of the moves from the two characters.
The producer assured that the development team has dutifully recreated all of Howard's techniques. They made some slight adjustments to fit the new battle system. They also announced that there will be some other DLC content added too, like stages, and costumes.
