E3 2017's EA Play event will give attendees a chance to play the sequel to the "Star Wars Battlefront" and a new game "Need for Speed." As a platform-agnostic company, EA will be supporting the Nintendo Switch with an upcoming "FIFA" version that may just be the beginning of a long-term collaboration.

EA will not be physically joining the E3 2017 but will be participating remotely in its own EA Play live event happening at the Hollywood Palladium in L.A. The studio has already announced who will be attending the event as well as on how to get tickets, which will go live on April 20 at 12 p.m. ET. However, more details may be given on how to buy tickets as well as what gamers may expect in the event in the coming days.

Meanwhile, EA Play has disclosed some of the titles that will be featured in the event starting with the "Star Wars Battlefront" sequel and a new game called the "Need for Speed." The E3 2017 EA Play will also bring its annual sports offering which includes "Madden NFL 18," "FIFA 18," and "NBA Live 18," The Escapist has learned. Other games will soon be revealed and other pertinent information on the official EA Play website. Gamers who may not be able to attend can watch the livestreamed gameplay demos that will also feature interviews with developers and competitive events.

EA has always been platform-agnostic but executive vice president Patrick Soderlund has already expressed his admiration for the Nintendo Switch and the Japanese makers in defying convention. EA and Nintendo has a long history according to Soderlund and this will again be reinforced with an upcoming "FIFA" version for the Switch according to IGN. "FIFA" is EA's biggest franchise with a wider appeal to all ages aligning with the Switch as a family console. Moreover, Soderlund did not give any specifics but EA may be supporting the Switch not just for "FIFA," which may only be the beginning of a longer EA-Nintendo collaboration.
