Out of stock remarks from NVIDIA and other online stores is a strong indication that the world's proclaimed fastest GPU GTX 1080 Ti is sold out everywhere. However, latest rumors suggest that NVIDIA is facing manufacturing bottlenecks for GTX 1080 Ti because of its memory's new speed grade.
NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Faces Supply-Demand Issues
With just few weeks after its official release, NVIDIA GTX 180 Ti is already considered sold out from almost all of online shops as well as the NVIDIA store itself. However, behind the good remark is a rumor that the graphic's specialist is facing issues on supply and demand because of the changes in GPU's speed grade.
Since NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti has 10 percent higher speed grade compared to GTX 1080 and Titan X, Micron, the manufacturer of the card's memory GDDR5X is reportedly having difficulties in producing such specifications. For this reason, the GPU's supply is expected to be limited for the mean time while Micron continues to manufacture volumes of the said memory with higher speed grade, Motley Fool reported.
NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Has Set New Frequency Record
An anonymous overclock expert has reportedly pushed the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Founder's Edition to 3GHz clock speed or approximately 3,024 MHz. According to PC Gamer, the kingpin uses an LN2 cooling and some modifications in the card's PCB to passed through the voltage locks to go beyond the card's limit.
The card has reached a pixel fillrate of 229.3 GPixel per second and texture fillrate of 583.7 GTexel per second. For this reason, NVIDIA has beaten its own frequency record that was previously held by another Pascal-based GPU, the GeForce GTX 1060 that reached 3012 MHz at that time.
Meanwhile, NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti is considered as the world's fastest gaming graphics card that money can buy in the amount of $700. The card is sit between GTX 1080 and Titan X, both of which are Pascal-based GPUs.
