The latest issues regarding the downgrade of Nexus 6 from Android 7.1.1 to Android 7.0 has led to a conclusion that the said device will be disconnected from Google's Android Program soon. The issue is also related with Nexus 6P in which a year from now, will fall outside Google's two-year update guarantee.

Nexus 6 Downgrade

Bugs and app crashing issues have surfaced when Nexus 6 started receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. For this reason, Google has decided to downgrade the device to Android 7.0 by releasing an update via OTA (over-the-air); however, this has caused disappointments from the users' end.

The downgrade update which addressed by Google as "supported track" is the first one in the history of Android. According to Droid Report, to be able to get the fully-functioning Android 7.1.1 Nougat, Nexus 6 has to return to its previous state.

However, since the downgrade is being done without doing a complete factory reset, users are reportedly experiencing some issues like crashing apps. On the other hand, Nexus 6 did not pass the SafetyNet Test conducted, thus, it is expected that Google might not release the new Android beta to the device not to mention the fact that's it's close to its three-year milestone.

Nexus 6P Lacking Features of Android 7.1.2 Nougat

Nexus 6P is yet another Google-hardware that is about to end its two-year update guarantee. And although the device is being upgraded into Android 7.1.2 Nougat, lacking feature like fingerprint gestures has been well-noted by the users and Google has not provide any official statement regarding the exclusion, Gigjets reported.

In relation to that, some netizens speculate that Google is currently working on it and will release it the following week. However, some are also speculative about the imminent expiration of Nexus 6P's two-year guarantee update contract wherein Google has to stop supporting the device anytime soon.
