Samsung Galaxy S8 Bixby Virtual Assistant To Bring Down Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant; Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest YouTube Ad [VIDEO]
BySamsung has just announced its projected voice-powered digital assistant, dubbed as Bixby. The Bixby virtual assistant will debut on the upcoming flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 Android smartphone.
The Bixby virtual assistant is aimed towards letting individuals control mobile apps by means of a spoken directives. Samsung Electronics Head of Research & Development, Injong Rhee, said that Bixby is going to be the company's first stride towards completely opening up new ways of interacting with a person's phone, according to Samsung. Nonetheless, Samsung's voice-powered digital assistant will join a crowded market of digital assistants that would include the Google Assistant, Microsoft's Cortana, Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri.
Rhee also stated that Bixby digital assistant will be a new intelligent interface on the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8. The South Korean tech titan is expected to reveal the Galaxy S8 next week and the device will have a set of pre-installed apps that will be working with the Bixby virtual assistant. Bixby will differ from its competitors in a way that it would include controlling nearly every task in apps instead of just limited functions, in terms of understanding user's command.
Meanwhile, Samsung posted the latest teaser trailer of the Galaxy S8 on YouTube, CNET reported. Although the video clip of the devi is only 15 seconds long and doesn't show off juicy details, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be launched in New York on March 29 and the tech giant will announce the handset at the Unboxed event on March 30. In spite of that, Slashleaks posted a video of the Samsung Galaxy S8 that flaunts some of the main rumored changes the tech giant made to its upcoming handset. A mysterious on-screen button appears when the screen of the Galaxy S8 turns on, which could be the tech company's new Bixby virtual assistant.
