Google Nexus 7 is being hyped which massive reports claim that the mother of android phones is having a major comeback because of its successor, the Pixel phone, failed to meet the expectation set by its predecessor. However, a very interesting rumor made its rounds online suggesting that the said Nexus comeback will be out in the form of Pixel 2.

Given the fact that the internet is full of surprises, this Nexus 7 shocker has quite a good proposition on why it could actually be the upcoming Pixel 2. According to Gig Jets, the Nexus 7 will have the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update straight from the box. The in another report, the same update will also appear in Pixel 2.

Thus, this similarity hints a potential link between Google Nexus 7 and the next Pixel phone. Second, in terms of processors, both devices will host the powerful Qualcomm SnapDragon 835. Although this processor will also make an appearance to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and other 2017 phones, having them in different Google lineup is puzzling.

In a nutshell, Google Nexus 7 remains unverified which means it still a rumor at press time. Meanwhile, the Pixel 2 has been confirmed by Google Hardware Department Head Rick Osterloh to be released in October 2017 following its releasing trend, Android Pit reported.

The similarities of Nexus 7 and Pixel 2 in their reportedly forthcoming features still suggest that they could be of the same boat, nonetheless, representing the same phone variant. In the meantime, waiting for the official announcement from Google is still the best option.

Meanwhile, Google resumes its Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Nexus 6 units. Note that Google has also re-uploaded the N6F26U build as part of firmware changes.
