According to Autoblog, first introduced in February, the new 2018 Ford Fiesta ST is making its very first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show. The smallest hot hatch in all the land gains more power, more refinement, and drops a cylinder in the new iteration.

Powering the new 2018 Ford Fiesta ST will be an all-new 197 horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine, the company's first 3-cylinder model. The new 1.5-liter EcoBoost, which said to use twin-independent variable cam timing, provides 197 bhp and 240 Nm to 290 Nm of torque. The new car can accelerate 0-62 mph in just 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 140 mph. The new 1.5 liter EcoBoost engine is expected to emit just 98g/km of CO2.

As for the digital tech and connectivity, the new Ford Fiesta ST features an advanced technology and styling packs, which includes support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SYNC 3 connection and an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment display. Additionally, the also features enhanced Electronic Sound Enhancement and an active exhaust valve setup.

In addition to the advanced digital packing, the 2018 Ford Fiesta ST also comes with three selectable drive modes namely: Normal, Sport, and Track. These modes, which accompanied by a cylinder deactivation system for efficiency, are used to adjust the engine, stability controls, and even exhaust sound, and steering.

The car's Normal mode is all about daily-driver setting, while on Sport mode, the throttle pedal response along with the engine mapping are sharpened and the power steering is stiffened. On Track mode, the car disables traction control completely and provides drivers with the stability control system. However, at this time, Ford isn't yet giving any further information about the new model's suspension or tire setup.
