Google is confirmed to launch Pixel 2 this year. The premium phone will be a much-advanced successor of the first generation Pixel, indeed. However, there's been a rumor circulating through the web that claimed Google will launch a budget Pixel 2. This may not be all true. Here's why!

Google will only release a premium Pixel phone

Google's Rick Osterloh confirmed that the company will release the premium Pixel phone successor albeit not stating when. As Osterloh firmly stated that the Pixel will stay high-end, a recent leak seems to hint that Google will also be manufacturing a budget Pixel to cater mid-range market. However, WccFtech latest report suggests that the rumor isn't true.

People at 9to5 Google forum have been speculating the possibility of a mid-range Pixel phone coming out as a Nexus phone. So far, the real budget phone that comes close with the Pixel's specs has been Nexus devices.

Phone Arena refused to believe the rumor and what comes to be a feasible suggestion is that the budget phone will carry a Nexus brand (once again) and be built by an OEM partner.

One thing that the media outlets know for sure, is that the next Nexus or Pixel phones will get stock Android that delivers a pure Android experience.

Google Nexus 7 is out of sight

Out of the Pixel sphere, the existence of Nexus 7 is nowhere to be found and even a reputable tipster like Evan Blass is missing the detail. Last year, Blass tweeted a rumor on Nexus 7, telling his followers that it would be out later in 2016. However, there is no update about the pure Android tablet.

What the Android community has heard is the Andromeda OS that will be pre-installed in Nexus 7, according to Gigjets. However, this isn't yet to be authorized, thus, the statement should be taken with due caution.
