A familiar source has leaked a few details of Nokia 8. The smartphone will reportedly sport Qualcomm's fastest chipset to date, Snapdragon 835. From the informant point of view, Nokia 8 launch will likely to be delayed due to the chipset shortages. Albeit the premium innards, the Android phone won't be out of reach as the leak suggests it will sell for CNY 4,000 or around $579.

Nokia 8, a Nexus phone?

The leaks garnered attention as the phone is a perfect candidate for the next Nexus device.

Nokia reportedly opts for stock Android for Nokia 8, according to the Verge. The pure Android experience reminds the fans of all Nexus devices. Furthermore, the handset pricing is set for a mid-range market - a segment that Nexus fits in. Another piece of evidence from Pocket-Lint suggests the smartphone will have an entirely different name when it is launched. Will it be a Nokia Nexus? Everything remains to be seen.

Specs-wise, Nokia 8 will reportedly pack 4 GB RAM for the base model while the 6GB belongs to the top-tier. Additionally, the smartphone will sport a 23 MP rear shooter. Phone Arena has learned that the sensor won't be supplied by Carl Zeiss but that doesn't mean that Nokia neglects the area. It can be argued that Nokia will optimize the optics using camera software - similar to what Google did with the Pixel phone.

As far as the design is concerned, Nokia 8 will sport a full metal body. The phone will sport dual-SIM slot and presumably 3,500 mAh battery capacity. It is also looking sleek and solid in a concept video - rocking a stunning AMOLED display. (Watch below)

Nokia 8 is expected to launch in June. The Finnish company did not use MWC event to reveal its first Android phones but reboot the classic Nokia 3310 instead. Nokia picking a special event schedule in June could be a strong hint of the company's biggest unveiling.

Do you think Nokia 8 specs could match the ones in a Nexus handset?
