According to Ars Technica, Mozilla releases their web browser's latest version, Firefox 52. The update happened yesterday, March 7. This release from Mozilla Foundation and Mozilla Corporation is the second major milestone of the browser this year, following Firefox 51 last Jan. 24.
As per the report, Firefox 52 provides the users an open-source web browser. It has new features and new security system that could detect 28 vulnerabilities in your browser.
Based on the report, the latest version is an Extended Support Release (ESR), it receives security fixes for around a year. However, the new features are only restricted to the mainline version of Mozilla Firefox.
Adding on, Firefox 52 gets rid of plugins that use the old NPAPI model. Other plugins that are no longer part of the latest version are Acrobat, Java, and Silverlight. The new update only exempted Flash plugin.
Moreover, the new browser also gives WiFi users to sign into portals at different hotspots. Along with this improved capability, similar to other browsers, one should agree to the browser's terms of use before getting an access.
On the other hand, another source named EndGadget reported that since Firefox 52 now supports WebAssembly, it now enables high-end apps and games.
It is said that WebAssmebly is a new technology that supports modern video games, video and image editing apps, computer-aided design, and scientific visualization. Other than that, the new feature speeds up existing online apps.
As for the other details, with the addition of WebAssembly, the "developers will be able to code a game or app". Meaning to say, Firefox 52 users can now run a WebAssembly-enabled app and game.
