Game publisher Square Enix announced Friday that PlatinumGame's RPG "Nier: Automata" will be released on PC less than two weeks after it debuts on the PlayStation 4.
"NieR: Automata" was previously announced to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the over-the-top action-role-playing game will be available on Steam starting March 17. Alongside its Steam launch, players who pre-purchased the game "NieR: Automata Day 1 Edition" Day One Edition bonus content, including a platform-exclusive Valve Character Accessory, according to Digital Trends.
Contents of the "NieR: Automata" bonus content include Machine Mask Accessory, Retro Grey Pod Skin, Grimoire Weiss Pod, Retro Red Pod Skin and Cardboard Pod Skin, IGN reported.
"NieR: Automata" is a follow-up game to 2010 released, "NieR," It had quite a cult following for its fantasy-themed action-RPG in the years following its release. "NieR: Automata," much like its predecessor is a hack-and-slash game, set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia. It follows the adventures of synthetic humanoids (android), 2B and 9S.
Even though "NieR: Automata" is an RPG game at its core, the game's design combines a wide array of genres in one coherent whole. The game switches from an overhead shooter, a twin stick shooter, 3D flight sequence, horizontal shooter. The game's third-person action also features overhead and side-scrolling segments and there are massive boss fights to complete the ensemble.

"NieR: Automata" will be released to PS4 on March 7 in North America and March 10 in Europe, ahead of the PC version on Steam.
