Xbox One players are about to receive another big news this week. The upcoming open world survival game "Conan Exiles" now have a release date. Developer Funcom has just announced that the Conan-themed survival game has been set to join the Xbox One Game Preview early access program.

For a starter, "Conan Exiles" is an upcoming open world survival video game developed and published for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The open world survival game is set in the fictional prehistoric world of Conan the Barbarian, with the custom playable character being rescued by Conan. As an exile, Conan needs to navigate the harsh desert landscape.

Originally, the game has been set for release in the middle of 2016, however, it was moved to a yet to be announced release date. Fortunately, an early access version of Windows has been released in January 2017. According to GameRant, developer Funcom has confirmed reports that "Conan Exiles" will enter into the Xbox One Game Preview early access program. Funcom made the confirmation in its recent company's financial quarter report.

Additionally, Funcom has also discussed and laid the groundwork for what updates "Conan Exiles" players can expect in the coming months. The plan, based on the company's recent financial report, for updating "Conan Exiles" includes 'regular patches' every two weeks, the smaller "quick win" additions, and the much larger Game Updates, which said to bring significant content to the game.

The so-called 'regular patches', which will come every two weeks, will focus on performance, stability adjustments, and some important bug fixing, while the smaller 'quick win' features are small features that will be added to requests from the game's community. On the other hand, Game Updates will include big contents and siege weapons such as trebuchet, mounts or dye systems.

As mentioned earlier by PC Gamer, "Conan Exiles" will see another 4-6 major game updates over the course of 2017 and then one major update in 2018. Players will also expect few number of smaller patches for the early access title every week. Funcom also releasing the additional "Conan Exiles" biome - a new environment with different terrain, monsters, equipment, and avatars, in the third quarter of 2017.

In addition to the "Conan Exiles" biome, Funcom has also announced plans to relaunch 'The Secret World', the storytelling MMO, in the first half of this year. The goal is to boost the game's appeal, with the addition of a new player experience, improvements to gameplay and even daily rewards. Funcom will also make some important adjustments to the game's business model, allowing the game to be played free.

Finally, "Conan Exiles" will be releasing on Xbox One, through the Xbox One Preview Early Access Program, in the third quarter of 2017, between July and September. This will be followed by the full PC version of the game in the first quarter of 2018.

In other gaming-related news, Funcom is reportedly planning to work on some new projects this year. One of these titles is said to be a new game concept that will be based on the Conan the Barbarian IP. The rumored title is set to enter the early concept stages, with full development production coming in the second half of this year.

This may not be a big surprise for everyone as "Conan Exiles" already reached the point of being profitable, which also means that there's now more money available for the game. As a result, game development will no longer a big problem for the developer. With its success, the game might be used as a template for whatever the developer chooses to do with the "Conan Exiles" IP.
