"Doubt" CBS TV show is cancelled. After airing two episodes, Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox starrer series got axed from its timeslot, leaving 11 more episodes hanging.

CBS Cancels 'Doubt' Series

According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, the newest show on CBS has been pulled out after only airing two episodes. Surprisingly, the cancelled legal drama program stars big-time actresses from other well-known television shows, "Orange is the New Black" and "Grey's Anatomy".

Axing the series is the first official cancellation announcement made by one of the Big Four networks. Not to mention, it is also the first axed show for the cycle of the 2016-2017 broadcast season.

The aforementioned source has learned that "Bull" repeat episode will replace "Doubt", CBS TV show in its timeslot of this coming Wednesday, March 1. Meanwhile, the following week, "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" will take over the slot at 10 p.m.

It is said that CBS orders 13 episodes for "Doubt" but with its current status, the 11 remaining episodes are left hanging. However, there are insiders who point out that the series could still return. When it will come back is still unknown.

Meanwhile, this is not Heigl's first time having a cancelled show on her record. Her previous show on NBC "State of Affairs" has also been axed. It is the actress' second time attempt of returning to the small screen.

Why 'Doubt' Is Cancelled?

Based on reports, "Doubt" has been earning bad reviews and ratings since its pilot episode. TV Guide notes, the show has a low rating of 0.8 among 18 to 49-year-old viewers, an average of 2.59 million on Feb 15. In the following week, the show gains another low rate (0.6) that falls below "Code Black" rating.

As part of the Big Four networks, "Doubt", CBS TV show, is sure has a lot of pressure to put on in order to compete with other series airing the same day. However, after all the promotions, it still has no progress. With its continuous fallback in ratings, this could be the reason why the show is officially cancelled.

"Doubt" is created by Joan Rater and Tony Phelan and stars Heigl, Cox, Dreama Walker, Dule Hill, Kobi Libli, Elliot Gould, and Steven Pasquale.
