It's unconfirmed yet, whether the new Xperia phone will belong to Xperia X series or Xperia Z instead.
Regardless of the naming, an image of the alleged new Xperia XZ shows off a completely new design of the smartphone. The thin bezels are making it more elegant and Sony apparently removes the logo to give room for larger screen aspect ratio.
Looking into the image details, the new Xperia handset still retains its volume rocker and power button on the right side. Sony is rumored to announce five handsets, according to UberGizmo, and the premium Xperia phone will likely be named Xperia X2.
The details on specs are still scarce at the moment but many sources have learned that Sony will equip its premium Xperia 2017 phone with 4K display. Judging from Sony's current handsets, it can be assumed that the handset will sport an impressive optics. According to Pocket-Lint, the camera promises 1,000 fps slow motion feature, dubbed as Motion Eye. Color accuracy has been Sony's excellent feature and this should also appear on the successors.
This year, major smartphone makers are eyeing on OLED panels especially after rumors on Samsung and Apple launching OLED display phones arise. For Sony, the major change in the display will happen in 2018 according to numerous media reports.
LG is making rounds on the internet, not only for its G6 but speculation that it will supply the panels to other leading smartphone brands, including Sony, GSM Arena has learned.

Sony will debut five Xperia smartphones at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress this year. There is no word on the exact names of each device but all of the handsets will be mid-range and high-end phones.
