MWC 2017 is just a few weeks away and Sony reportedly has five smartphones to reveal. Recent reports suggest that the premium flagship will sport an interesting feature that could make it stand out from the crowd.
Yoshino is the codenamed given to Sony's upcoming premium device, according to Trusted Reviews. The handset will likely come with a Snapdragon 835 chip and an immersive 4K display. There is no further detail that could suggest if this will be the Z5 successor but if it is true, then it won't likely appear at the trade show.
Reports have suggested that Sony's premium flagship will not be unveiled at MWC 2017, Pocket-Lint has learned from a tweet from @Ricciolo1. It can be argued that Sony is preparing another event at a later date. It is also plausible that the invitiation will be exclusive for the press as the company will showcase the premium phone's prototype.
Sony to use OLED panel for the upcoming Xperia phone
Meanwhile, there have been a few other leaks that suggest Sony could reveal the first OLED flagship in 2018. It is uncertain whether it has something to do with the delayed launch but if there is anything to go by, an OLED panel would mean a huge upgrade to Sony's upcoming Xperia phones.
To put things into perspective, the Xperia XZ already flaunts impressive optics, a 23 MP rear-sensor that features EIS and laser autofocus.
If this type of camera should be combined with an OLED technology, it will have more visually striking display, more vivid and more color accuracy, as reported by Tech Times.
As a comparison, Apple and Google haven't gone that far to equip its flagships with a whopping camera sensor. In fact, iPhone 7 and Pixel pack 12 MP rear-shooter. It can also be argued that their next successor won't have a huge leap from the current unit.
