SpaceX Delivers Lethal MRSA Pathogen to ISS Which Kills More Americans than HIV/AIDS, Parkinson’s and Homicide Combined
BySpaceX is all set to venture in another mission to the International Space Station (ISS) but this time it will contribute to the microbiology study involving a bacterium which kills more victims than HIV/AIDS, Parkinson's disease, emphysema, and homicide combined. The figures from where this assumption is derived belong to American population alone.
As reported in RT, SpaceX will travel to the ISS on Feb. 14, 2017, to deliver the MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). This bacterium is quite dangerous because it is naturally hard to kill. However, the spread of this bacterium cannot be associated with an epidemic but in much worse circumstance. MRSA has the properties that make it immune to common antibiotics treatment as influenced by natural selection.
The SpaceX transit plays a vital role in the development and advancement of MRSA prevention before it actually becomes the problem. It can weaken patients' immune system while other unprecedented conditions of the patients can bring up complications which can cause severe medical condition or death.
SpaceX's mission will be assisted by ISS crew as soon as it reaches the station. The samples will be monitored by the top-of-the-line Gene-RADAR device. This machine powerful machine can capture data that will help enhance models of drug resistance and support development of better medicines to counter MRSA. In addition, this Gene-RADAR device is capable of accurately detecting any disease that has an inherent fingerprint, in real time and at the point-of-care.
Aside from the SpaceX, Nanobiosym is also part of these breakout medicinal development being the creator of the Gene-RADAR device. The company CEO Anita Goel said that it will leverage the microgravity environment on the ISS to accelerate the Precision Medicine revolution here on Earth.
According to Science Alert, approximately 90,000 Americans are being infected by MRSA annually whereas around 20,000 people are dying from it. This is very important since no major breakthrough has been discovered to counter it.
