It's uncertain as to which smartphones will be using the chip since this is a huge leap from its previous chips. MediaTek is popular among entry-level performers, according to Phone Arena, and this could be a big step that allows the company to embark to European market and meet its direct rival, Exynos.
There have been a few budget handsets carrying MediaTek processor, such as, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Sony Xperia C4, HTC One M9+, and Vivo X5 Max Platinum Edition. The premium chip is expected to be integrated with a wider range of smartphones in the future.
