‘LEGO Movie 2’ Focusing On Will Arnett’s Batman; First Look At Silly ‘LEGO Batman’ Vehicles
By"The LEGO Movie 2" is still years away from release but the cast and crew are already deep in development. Just recently, Will Arnett confirmed that he will reprise his voice role as the Batman in the sequel.
The "Arrested Development" star revealed his involvement in the follow-up movie to Express.co.uk. According to Arnett, they are "starting to work" on the "really fun" sequel. The actor stressed that he can't reveal anything about the film yet because the process is still early, but he said that Batman is "firmly at the center of it."
The movie is set to bow in theaters on Feb. 8, 2019, with Chris McKay directing and Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan writing the script, Cinema Blend reported. Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Charlie Day and Nick Offerman are all expected to return as the sequel's main voice cast.
Prior to "The LEGO Movie 2," Arnett's Batman will star in his own movie releasing on Friday, Feb. 10, "The LEGO Batman Movie." Arnett acknowledged that the solo film's creation was due to the success of "The LEGO Movie," adding that the full credit goes to Phil Lord and Chris Miller (the original flick's director and writer). Arnett praised the two guys for taking advantage of the Lego world and creating an entire movie based on that.
