Looking to go caroling this season, but your group is small and you don't know the words? You can try downloading the new Google caroling app if you don't mind glancing down at your cell phone screen for occasional reminders.

Basically, the app functions as a mobile karaoke machine, playing a famous holiday jingle and flashing lyrics in rhythm to the beat, Tech Crunch reported. Both Android and iPhone users have access to the free app, which can also be activated via voice command.

"Ok Google," subscribers of Google's voice command must say, "Let's go caroling." Those word will prompt a selection of five classic Christmas songs, according to the Los Angeles Times: "Jingle Bells," "Up on the House Top," "Deck the Halls," "O Christmas Tree" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." Sorry, no "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree," though that might be tough to pull off outside an experienced a capella group. A holiday ornament keeps users on the beat.

In honor of the season, Google also recently developed a Santa Tracker app, which, as it sounds, allows users to follow the big man during his Christmas Eve/Christmas journey to every home in the world. It's not yet clear how fastidious Google will be in predicting Santa's (or Sant-ee Claus as its pronounced in "The Nightmare Before Christmas") every move. For example, will there be a second window or less to capture him in your town? Will only countries be tracked? Will the exact gifts per household be discloses (or at least some highlights)? Perhaps famous landmarks will be mentioned or famous people, like, "Santa Claus just dropped off a batch of presents to the Obamas." Seven billion people in one night, eh? Not much time per house.

It could be a fun experiement. Five days or so will tell.
