‘A Walk To Remember’: A Look Back After 15 Years; Mandy Moore, Shane West Reunite [Video]
By15 years ago, Mandy Moore captivated America for her breakout role as the angelic minister's daughter, Jamie Sullivan in the movie adaptation of Nicholas Spark's novel "A Walk To Remember," a tearjerker in which she shared the spotlight with upcoming star Shane West who played rebellious charmer Landon Carter.
Who could ever forget the line "You have to promise you won't fall in love with me," Moore said to West when she agreed to help him out in a school play as punishment for having been caught drinking on school grounds. Moore at that time was only 17.
She debuted in 2001 with a minor voice role in "Dr. Dolittle 2 and followed it up by a role as the mean girl in "The Princess Diaries," top-billed by Anne Hathaway in her movie debut. She is also a Disney Princess as the talking and speaking voice of Rapunzel in "Tangled," among many other projects she has done.
"A Walk To Remember" remains to this day as Moore's vehicle that launched her acting career that endeared her so to her fans, reported ET. Ironically, her co-star, West, who was 23 at the time, considered "A Walk To Remember" not a teen movie, but a movie with teenagers in it. Like Moore, the movie is his first major role.
Fast forward to the future and we have Moore star in one of the biggest television shows there is on TV today in "This Is Us." Her "A Walk To Remember" co-star West has continued his career in various TV roles that include "Salem" and "ER."
In commemoration of the 15th year of "A Walk to Remember," Moore posted a picture in Instagram, which said, "In honor of 15th anniversary of "A Walk To Remember," let's take a walk down memory lane..." According to the Daily Mail, when asked about a possible screen reunion, Moore replied, "We're working on it!"
