‘Portal 3’ News: Valve Corporation's Gabe Newell Chooses ‘Portal’ Game Than ‘Half-Life’; ‘Portal’ & ‘Half-Life’ Films Soon [VIDEO]
ByThe thing about Valve Corporation's video games, such as "Half-Life" and the first-person puzzle-platform "Portal," is that the games have a huge fan base. But, the video game company seems to have moved on already and it appears they are not interested to roll out a new game in the near future.
Nonetheless, while Valve Corporation CEO Gabe Newell hosted an AMA on Reddit, among the question that was posted was about which game the CEO preferred, "Portal" or the series of first-person shooter games "Half-Life." Surprisingly, Valve CEO opted for the "Portal." The reason of Gabe is that he was so involved with "Half-Life," wherein he has the full knowledge of what the development team did wrong and the CEO witnessed all the flaws in the game, according to MCrunch.
In spite of that, it does not mean that the video game company will start working on the latest "Portal" game, but at least game enthusiasts are aware that if Newell was asked to choose between the two, he will choose "Portal." The reason why gamers think that there might be a "Portal 3" was because the ending of the previous franchise suggests that the story might not be over yet.
While the gaming universe may never see another sequel of the "Half-Life" or even "Portal," fans of the franchise might take solace in the possibility of a movie based on the video game. When Newell was asked if there were still plans to make motion pictures based on the video games, the Valve CEO responded to the question with a post simply saying, yep, the films are coming, Blastr reported.
Film director J.J. Abrams already offered an update regarding the films, but his update was somewhat bland to those who want to see the films sometime this decade. Director J.J. Abrams stated that the films are in development. They've got writers, and they are working on both those stories.
