The Xiaomi Mi 6 now comes in three variants from budget, mid-range to high end with varying specs and prices. For budget consumers, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Youth variant retails at $384.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 budget phone comes with the MediaTek Helio X30 and PowerVR 7XT Plus GPU. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a flat screen LCD display, and dual rear cameras.
For mid-range patrons, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Standard retails at $480 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and Adreno 540 GPU. It has a 4GB of RAM, 128GB internal storage, an OLED display with a Quad-HD resolution, and dual rear cameras.
For premium phones enthusiasts, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Premiere retails at only $577. It also comes with the same Snapdragon chipset and GPU in Standard, but with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Premiere Xiaomi Mi 6 offers the high-end feature of the Samsung Galaxy S7 with its dual-edged curved display, supporting previous report that it will be called the Mi 6 Pro. It also uses an all-ceramic body, not found in the budget or mid-range models, Gadgets360 reported.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Includes Band 28
The Chinese has been known to produce affordable phones with high-end specs as seen in the impressive debut of the Xiaomi Mi 5. The only drawback is its lack of Band 28, but this may be resolved in the Xiaomi Mi 6 as the Chinese have included LTE bands in the global version of the Redmi Note 3, Gizmodo Au reported.
Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to have Android Nougat 7.1 out-of-the-box with MIUI 9 running on top. It packs 4000mAh battery capacity and Quick Charge 4.0 support.
The dual rear cameras in the Xiaomi Mi 6 feature 12MP SonyIMX362 sensor and the 4MP front-facing camera. It also has the USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Launch
At the Geek Park Innovation Conference in Beijing, Xiaomi VP Li Wangqiang revealed a "surprise product" unveiling in March. Xiaomi participated in CES 2017 for the first time, which indicates that it may also make its presence known in MWC according to ZNews. Moreover, GizmoChina, a Chinese publication reported that trial production of the Xiaomi Mi 6 will begin by February to prepare for a mid-March launching.
