Zenfone 3 users were glad that the company finally rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the handsets. However, it didn't take long until Asus decided to put the status 'On Hold'. Details here!

Android Nougat update rolled out to Zenfone 3

Asus began to roll out Android Nougat update to Zenfone 3 awhile ago but apparently the update is now on hold due to bugs issues, Ubergizmo has learned.

A user asked Asus via Facebook, why he could not find the update post and the company representative quickly replied with a 'Kindly Wait' note.

However, it won't be long until the update begins to rollout publicly after Asus Philippines confirmed the delayed and suggests users to enable auto update in the phone's Settings menu.

This could also mean that the update rollout will reach wider handsets in other region outside the Philippines.

This may be an unusual event where a firmware update was released but retracted shortly after. Whatever the reason, the Taiwanese company may be making a cautious move, not to disappoint the users.

The latest firmware rollout for Asus devices is a little bit later than the other phones such as ZTE Axon 7, Galaxy S7 series and Nexus 6P.

Asus introduced Zenfone 3 last year and it's expected to get Android 7.0 Nougat this year. The device packs 5.2-inch screen with a choice of either 3 GB or 4 GB RAM on board. The optics department packs 16 MP and 8 MP cameras whilst the battery offers 2600 mAh capacity.

Asus just launched Zenfone 3 Zoom this year - a more premium device in the family. Find out the differences here.
