Samsung is setting up to release the successor to its flagship device, the Galaxy S4 smartphone, in early 2014, the Telegraph reported.

Manufacturing of the Samsung Galaxy 5S will reportedly begin in Vietnam in January 2014, with an eye to release the product at the end of the quarter. If these rumors are true, it would mean an acceleration of the company's normal release cycle of releasing spring manufactured products over the summer.

The Inquirer reported the Galaxy S5 production will hit around 800,000 to 1 million units in January, and rise up to 6 million units in February, which would give the smartphone a March or April 2014 release date.

The rumors reinforce rumors that slow sales of the Galaxy S4 have forced the mobile company to "bring forward plans for its new handset," the Telegraph reported. Although the Galaxy S4 broke sale records, it made on 70 percent of expected sales at launch.

According to Design & Trend, a Samsung patent filed in May recently made available to the public suggest that a wraparound screen could be a part of this Galaxy 5S design and future Galaxy devices. The "bended" display "would wrap around all the front and sides, offering more space on the front side."

The new screen, would theoretically allow users to save links and images for later uses.

In addition to the patent filed earlier this year, a report by Bloomberg last week claimed that Samsung is preparing to offer a Galaxy phone with a "wraparound screen" in 2014, leading some to believe that the display would be packed into the Galaxy S5.

There is speculation that the device could come in two versions - one metal and one plastic.

The rumored Galaxy S5 option would include a high-end variant with a metal chassis and a flexible OLED screen and a plastic model similar to previous Galaxy generations.

Unlike Apple's iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, the specifications of the two Galaxy S5 handsets will be identical. The display size is expected to be around 5 inches, using Super AMOLED technology and with a pixel density of around 560ppi.

According to Design & Trend, other rumored specs include a 16-Megapixel camera and 3GB of RAM, powered by a 4,000MaH battery. The Galaxy S5 may feature also new software that would allow users to video call multiple people at the same time.
