BySamsung confirmed that they will be rolling out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagship devices in January. The South Korean tech giant confirmed the release date of Android 7.1.1 Nougat in a message to those signed-up to its Galaxy Beta Program.
Samsung said in a statement, for those currently in the Galaxy Beta Program, that they would do their best to send out the official version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat update in January. The message of the tech company also said that the program will end on Dec. 30, which means that the tech giant will close its doors in accepting feedback on the error report and suggestion sections while Samsung will keep an eye on the community section, according to Sam Mobile.
Samsung has confirmed that they will skip the Android 7.0 Nougat version and go straight away to the Android 7.1.1 for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update will feature emoji's new designs, Google's new GIF keyboard that includes the launcher shortcuts, which will come along with a 3D-Touch-esque feature to the home screen. With Android Nougat, the South Korean tech company is also providing easier ways to manage the smartphone's battery usage, 9to5 Google reported.
Nevertheless, the Samsung Galaxy Beta Program was released in the U.S., wherein the selected Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge users get a chance to experience the software ahead of everyone else. The Samsung Galaxy Beta Program was then in the U.K. Galaxy stores.
The Galaxy Beta Program comes along with a lot of pre-release bugs, which has been discovered by the testers by now. Wherein, the program will be fixed right before it will be released. In addition, the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy A series users are also expected to get the Android Nougat update.
