PlayStation News: Sony Creators Teases 2017 Plans; Free PS3, PS4, PS Vita Games On PlayStation Plus January 2017 Revealed [VIDEO]
ByDuring the year-end creator interviews of 4Gamer, Sony Worldwide Studios President, Shuhei Yoshida, stated that 2016 felt like the year of hardware with the releases of PlayStation 4 Pro, the slimmer PS4 and the PlayStation VR. Looking ahead to 2017, Yoshida hopes to make it a year that delivers astonishing software to take advantage of the latest hardware.
Other Sony creators were also interviewed by 4Gamer, including Creative Director at Sony Interactive Entertainment, Keiichiro Toyama, who looks ready to start a new video game after "Gravity Rush 2" rolls out in January 2017. Toyama stated that as soon as preparations for the new title starts, it will likely be a busy 2017. Outside of that, Toyama said that he will be promoting various things.
Meanwhile, Sony Japan Studio Producer Teruyuki Toriyama wouldn't hint on what he's currently working on, but Toriyama did offer up a teaser. Toriyama said that while he can't say any details yet, they are also moving forward with the creation of ambitious new titles and latest title concepts at the same time, according to Gematsu.
On the other hand, Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus free games lineup for January 2017. There will be the typical six total video games up for grabs across PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, as well as PlayStation Vita.
On PlayStation 4, a total of four titles will be added, including "This War of Mine: The Little Ones," "Titan Souls," "The Swindle" and the "Day of the Tentacle Remastered." PlayStation Vita gamers will only get the "Azkend 2," "Titan Souls," "The Swindle" and the "Day of the Tentacle." While PS3 owners acquires just two video games, "Blazerush" and "The Swindle," PlayStation Blog reported.
Nevertheless, PlayStation owners can pick up these games when the PlayStation Store refreshes on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017. Until then, gamers must make sure to pick up the December 2016 freebies before the games return to their regular prices.
