"Attack on Titan" will be coming back for Season 2 and is already scheduled to be aired on April 17, 2017. To promote the coming series, a trailer for the upcoming anime was recently released, suggesting that there will be portions of the series that will delve on Titans being pitted against other Titans.

Attack on Titan Season 2

Picking up from where "Attack on Titan" Season 1 left off, "Attack on Titan" Season 2 will also address the issue what is the Titans connection with the walls of the city. Hange Zoë, one of the squad leaders, questions a priest seemingly worshipping the walls that protect the city from the Titans.

"Attack on Titan" Season 2 took too long to come out since the manga did not have enough chapters to justify 25 or 26 episodes. The first season remained sacrosanct with the original source material so it would be safe to surmise the second season will go the same route, including having four story arcs. Reportedly, there will be a new Titan and the identities of two other titans will be revealed, according to Geek.

Fans can expect "Attack on Titan" Season 2 to premiere in April 2017. Funimation acquired the rights to "Attack on Titan" from Wit Studio on Dec. 8, 2016, and its COO and EVP, Mike DuBoise, is reportedly thrilled of the acquisition and is giving due credit to fans for having continued interest in the series. The sentiment is also echoed by Funimation founder and CEO, Gen Fukunaga, Screenrant reported.

Meanhwile, Funimation, in partnership with comic publisher Kodansha, plans to distribute "Attack on Titan" series in the U.S. and Canada; however, there has been no word how long fans from the rest of the world will have to wait for the series to be shown after "Attack on Titan" Season 2 is initially released in Japan.

Back in 2009, "Attack on Titan" manga by Hajime Isayama started as a magazine feature. Since then, it has become a stand-alone series that has 21 volumes to date. It has been adapted as a novel, an anime series, found its footing on video games, and even live action featured films. In 2013, "Attack on Titan" anime became a surprise hit that sent shockwaves in the anime community.

The story revolves around a post-apocalyptic era where surviving members of society are living in a walled stronghold fighting off ravenous giants that mindlessly feed on humans. Aside from the significance of the wall in "Attack of Titans", the story also follows the cadets from the three branches of the government who are left to protect what is left of humanity.
