The Texas A&M Aggies (12) are in for an eventful few weeks; Saturday they visit the LSU Tigers (22), next weekend they are going to Missouri (8), then they have their bid for a bowl game and somewhere in between they find out if Johnny Manziel is NFL-bound.

The Aggies also have a lot to be proud of this year, despite a defense that allows 31 points per game, they are 8-2 overall and 4-2 in the SEC. Close losses to Auburn and Alabama are the only blemishes on their impressive season. Without Manziel leading the fifth-highest-scoring offense in the nation, this team may not be the same.

Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin told ESPN Radio's "SVP and Russillo" his Heisman quarterback will make his decision on whether to enter the NFL Draft or return to College Station after the regular season and before the bowl game.

"We'll have that discussion after the Missouri game, certainly during the bowl preparation," he said. "I'm sure the announcement will be made at that time."

The Tigers love playing at home and have not been beaten this season in Baton Rouge. Their offense has not been explosive, but LSU coach Les Miles likes it that way. He would rather win on solid, mistake-free play from quarterback Zach Mettenberger and running back Jeremy Hill.

"Certainly we recognize the challenge that an offense like A&M will bring," said Miles, according to the Associated Press. "I like my defense. I suspect they'll play best in this game. I think they'll be a challenge to A&M and I think being in Tiger Stadium will be a challenge to A&M. It's a much different environment and a place where the home team generally does pretty good."

But Manziel has stood up to better defenses, the best in fact, when he accumulated more than 500 yards of total offense and took years off Nick Saban's life in a home loss to Alabama.

There is no question Sumlin and the rest of College Station would like to have Manziel back for at least one more season. His stats are better than they were last year when he won the Heisman Trophy and numerous scouts agree he has greatly improved his passing game.

"I've had a number of people tell me there's no more exciting college football player in the country than he is, and he's the guy they like to watch," Sumlin said. "He's a special talent. His energy, his leadership on the team is evident, and he continues to get better every week."

While Miles hopes the scoring does not get out of hand, LSU cornerback Jalen Mills said both teams' offense and defense have something else to worry about.

"It is a day game. It's going to be hot. If somebody catches a cramp or somebody may be gassed and may need to sit out for a play or two, we do have the depth for it," Mills said. "Your name could be called at any time during that game, so you have to be ready. No sitting on the sidelines."
