As scheduled, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Gionee, has officially unveiled the M2017 Android smartphone. The selling point of the device is the huge 7,000mAh battery capacity, wherein two 3,500mAh batteries are inside.

As for other specs of Gionee M2017 Android smartphone, the device sports a 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, and packs a Snapdragon 653 SoC. The Gionee M2017 smartphone rolls out with a 6GB of RAM, while the storage options of the smartphone include 128GB and 256GB. Nonetheless, there's no microSD card slot and the 3.5mm headphone jack, Digital Trends reported.

In terms of Gionee M2017 smartphone's camera, the device features a dual rear shooter, 12MP and 13MP, as well as an 8MP front camera. The Gionee M2017 smartphone measures 155.2 x 77.6 x 10.78mm and weighs at about 238g.

The M2017 runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with the Amigo 3.5 UI on top. The latest handset of Gionee also features a fingerprint sensor on the front, according to Gionee.

The color options of the Gionee M2017 will be available for sale in Gold and Black. Gionee M2017 smartphone's connectivity options include a GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB OTG, 3G and 4G, Gadgets 360 has learned.

The Gionee M2017 smartphone has been unveiled in China, where the device carries a starting price tag of RMB 6,999, which is around $1,010. The top model of the Gionee M2017 Android smartphone that sports an Italian custom alligator leather back is available for RMB 16,999 or $2,446. As the prices indicate, the Gionee M2017 smartphone is not aiming at the general Chinese population, but rather the select few with that much money.

Although Gionee's latest Android smartphone is already up for grabs for pre-order in China, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has yet to offer any details regarding when or if the Gionee M2017 Android smartphone might reach other markets as well.
