Moto X Pure or for those outside the U.S., the Motorola Moto X Style, has been spotted running processor benchmark tests at GFXBench. The Motorola Moto X Style was running Android 7.1.1 Nougat, hinting that the smartphone's update is presently undergoing tests. A possible Motorola Moto X Style roll out will come soon.

Before the Moto Z line was released as Motorola's flagship Android smartphone series, there was Moto X. The Schaumburg, Illinois based tech company first rolled out its Moto X smartphones in August 2013, taking an intriguing route as the tech company focuses more on software optimization, which is not the priority of other tech companies at that point.

Motorola became popular because of their software optimization strategy. Nevertheless, the tech giant lagged behind when it comes to the smartphone's groundbreaking specs. The said strategy worked wonders for the tech company, but later versions of the Moto X lineup disappointed a lot of tech experts as future releases changed direction from the original version.

The Motorola Moto X Style edition was the last release for the Moto X lineup. The smartphone was released in 2015, but it appears the tech company is planning to roll out an updated version, which currently runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Motorola confirmed their plans to upgrade it to Motorola Moto X Style Android Nougat 7.1.1 in the future and the Android smartphone is likely to be revealed in 2017, according to Phone Arena.

As of the moment, Motorola has no confirmations on the release date of Moto X Style Android 7.1.1 Nougat, as well as the release date for the Motorola Moto X Play update. It is still unknown if the two smartphones will get Nougat first, GSM Arena reported.

So far, the Motorola company has launched their Nougat updates for various smartphones such as the Moto G and the Moto Z.
