The good news is that reports have revealed that the production of "Star Wars: Episode 8" is already ongoing and episode 9 is about to start. Not only the release dates of the next movies are out, but also some interesting plot detail.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy teased in an interview that Star Wars fans can expect to find out some information about episode 8 in Spring 2017. Kennedy said that they are just giving Rogue One a little bit of time, Movie Pilot reported.
While Episode 8 has already fired up the production a long time ago. The episode 9 is set to start the production in April 2017. This is really a bit early as what was expected by Star Wars fans, according to Slash Film.
The "Star Wars: Episode VIII" motion picture kicked off the production last February 2016, and will be getting a Dec. 2017 release date. Nevertheless, there is going to be a major change for the upcoming films as this will put the episode 9 film into a May 2019 release.
Nonetheless, the plot of "Star Wars: Episode 8" is said to be related to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." The episode 8 may still have elements that resembles to the The Empire Strikes film, Cinema Blend reported.
The focal point of "Star Wars: Episode 8" will be based with Rey finding Luke Skywalker on a remote island that transpired in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Wherein Skywalker is allowed to reside in the remote island, while Rey is not. Meanwhile "Star Wars: Episode 9" is said to follow in the footsteps of the Han Solo film and slated to hit theaters on May 2019.
