Snapdragon 835 Specs, Release: Latest GFXBench Scores Reveal Octa-core CPU, 30% Powerful Than SoC 821
ByThe top market leader in the mobile SoC department, Qualcomm, has added iteration to its Snapdragon processor lineup with the announcement of a new flagship processor, Snapdragon 835. Now, the killer processor has been spotted on GFXBench benchmark database, revealing the chipsets octa-core SoC running with a clocking speed of 2.2 GHz.
Qualcomm is already sampling customers with what should be expected on the said processor. Accoring to GSMArena, the GFX Bench data flaunted the new Snapdragon processor being tested for performance, as it is coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
According to the testing result, Snapdragon 835 will be a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 821 and Snapdragon 820 SoCs in terms of processing power. The new Adreno 540 GPU scores about 30 percent higher compared to the 530 in the newest Snapdragon 821.
Following the benchmarking database, the Adreno 540 GPU scored a 41.4 fps (Offscreen) in Manhattan 3.1 Open GL ES3.1, 61.8 fps (Offscreen) in Manhattan OpenGL ES 3.0, and 114.9 fps (Offscreen) in T-Tex OpenGL ES 2.0.
The processor for octa-core designed with Adreno 540 GPU has shown a staggering 30 percent more compact than its predecessor, allowing phone manufacturers to improve other hardware. The Snapdragon 835 processor also include power saving technology which cuts power consumption by 40 percent. Rumors suggest that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor can outsmart Apple A10 processor.
In addition, the Snapdragon 835 chipset will be produced through the company's current 10nm FinFET technology employed by most semiconductor manufacturers by its capability to make connections at molecular-level size fractions, Android Headlines reported.
The 10nm FinFET method allows the production of better performing devices that have low power consumption, which will also work alongside Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology making the future of smartphones primarily focused on battery saving.
More so, the Snapdragon 835 will offer 27 percent more power in terms of performance, and will consume 40 percent less power consumption than its predecessor as the fast charging technology is expected to give users 5 hours of battery life in just 5 minutes of charging.
As of the date, a number of devices are rumored to be equipped with the new Adreno 540 GPU already, including the Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi 6 and the OPPO Find 9.
The chip is expected to debut in the Mobile World Congress alongside the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8.
