Top market leader for computer hardware and electronics, Asus, started sending out press invites for its upcoming Zennovation event, scheduled on Jan. 4, 2017. The said showcase for highly-anticipated smartphones and processors will be the day 2 of next year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

In its official website, the Taiwanese consumer electronics major release its e-invitation for tech enthusiasts and consumers. The poster says, "Join us at our CES press conference on Wednesday, Jan 4 and experience our latest innovations that will expand you vision and stretch the imagination," the company said in the e-invitation on its official website."

There is no mention of the upcoming smartphones and processors that will be shown on the spotlight event, although the inclusion of the Qualcomm logo in the e-invitation could hint the presence of the rumored Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC chipset.

The next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC is going to be manufactured on an advanced 10nm process by Samsung. This killer processir will be succeeding Snapdragon 820 and 821 chipsets release, equipped with the chipmaker's premiere modem, the Snapdragon Z16, which is capable of downloading speeds up to 1Gbps from cellular networks.

According to University Herald, the Zenfone 4 might steal the spotlight, including the Snapdragon 835 chipset. The phone's predecessor, Zenfone 3, was dropped off earlier this year, sporting 5.5-inch display with a 1920 X 1080 pixel resolution, a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, a 4 GB RAM, a 16 MP rear camera fully equipped with high-end features, and packed with a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery and 4G LTE along with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac option.

Asus CEO, Jerry Shen, confirmed last November through the unveiling of its first smartphone that supports the requirements of Project Tango Google through Augmented Reality at the CES event.

He furthered that the Zenfone AR will come with improved functionality and high performance, alongside its built-in cameras, sensors and controllers in the second and third quarter of 2017.
