Amazon is gearing it up a notch. The company just launched a new app that allows consumers to know more about the product that they are buying. Transparency app, as the name implies, gives consumers access to information that they normally do not have.

Amazon's Transparency App - how it works?

Android Headline reports that the Transparency App is free for download from Google Play Store. There's one catch though, you can only use it once you have the product on-hand. When a customer bought a product that bears the Transparency logo and a QR code, one can simply scan the code using the Transparency App to get the details about the product. After scanning, the customer can get the following details such as brief description of the product and its manufacturer, and for perishables it will even include the ingredients and the expiration date for the product.
