The Gigabyte Aero 14 Thin Gaming Laptop has recently been upgraded with a new NVIDIA GEForce GTX 1060 GPU. The graphic card is also powered by GDDR5 Memory Chips of at least 6GB.

Why the Upgrade?

The Gigabyte Aero 14 Thin Gaming Laptop has been upgraded with the GTX 1060 GPU in order to keep up with the competition. One of its rivals is Razer Blade which also released a GTX 1060 version. Laptop manufacturers also have to upgrade their graphic cards since NVIDIA is currently replacing the Maxwell with the new Pascal, according to Anandtech.

GTX 1060 GPU Specs

The NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU is based on the Pascal Architecture. The GPU has 1280 stream processors, 80 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The latest Gigabyte Aero 14 notebook is expected to handle more graphic intensive game titles than before. The 1060 GPU also consumes less power Compared to its predecessors.

Gaming Laptop Specs

The latest GTX 1060 equipped Gigabyte Aero 14 gaming notebook has basically the same specs as the previous models. It currently has an Intel Core i7 -6700HQ processor chip which utilizes a Quad Core Hyper-Threading. It also comes with a DDR4-2400 memory that can accommodate anywhere between 8 to 32GB. The processor also includes one M.2 slot that could accommodate a SSD card of up to 1TB with a maximum read speed of 2GB.

The Gigabyte Aero 14 gaming laptop is equipped with a Wi-Fi and a wireless module. There are also three Type A ports for the USB 3.0 version and C-Type port for the USB 3.1. Other slots include an audio connector, SD Card Reader a webcam. There are built-in microphones and 1.5W speakers as well.

The Gigabyte Aero 14 keyboard is specifically designed for gamers. Users can program the keyboard to store complex input key combinations. The retail price for this newest Gigabyte product is expected to reach around $1700.
