Most fans and gamers alike would agree that a crossover game is always a good idea. Such is the case for the longrunning and renowned crossover fighting game series "Marvel vs. Capcom." Recently, an extended trailer was released for its latest installment, "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite," that featured both Captain America and Morrigan. As such, rumors have been circulating around as to whether fans will see the X-Men in the upcoming game.

It was recently reported that Capcom has unveiled its first trailer for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" during the PlayStation Experience 2016, Forbes noted. Fans were able to get a glimpse of the upcoming installment that features the Unreal Engine 4 being utilized by the game.

Moreover, it was revealed in the initial trailer for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinity" that fans will be able to harness the power of the Infinity Stones (courtesy of the Marvel universe). It also shows "Street Fighter's" Ryu and Mega Man X going toe-to-toe with Iron Man and Captain Marvel.

However, the same trailer was re-released but for an extend version where it confirms the appearances of Captain America and Morrigan (who is known from the "Darkstalkers" franchise), Gamerant reported.

The source went on to cite a video posted via Marvel Entertainment's YouTube channel that showcased the extended trailer. Both are recurring characters in the crossover fighting game as it was stated that Morrigan appeared back in "Marvel vs. Capcom," while Captain America was already included in "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter."

As such, fans have also speculated as to whether or not the X-Men, who has long since been a part of the franchise, would be returning to the roster for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite," as well.

A post from NeoGAF by a user named Ryce was said to have leaked rumors of the X-Men joining the list of characters as part of a DLC for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinity," Event Hubs reported.

The source went on to mentione the credibility of the NeoGAF forum member by saying that the user has been known to have previously leaked accurate information regarding the game.
