The third iteration for Adult Swim series' "Rick and Morty" is reportedly adjusting its timeline release for 2017, according to its series creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. The said delayed on the airing was confirmed based on animation concerns.

Appearing in a recent podcast called "Chicks Who Script," "Rick and Morty" writer Erica Rosbe provided welcome updates on the series' third season run. Rosbe revealed that the season is written, but the show's animation has been a slow process.

"We ended four weeks ago, I think. I think they're done soon, they're done really soon. I think in a week or two they're going to have screenings in the production office," Rosbe said.

Rosbe further confirmed that the series' new animation process is causing the time lag of the premiere. The animation cycle for "Rick and Morty" is adapting its unconventional technique, called "retroscripting, in which the animators work around primarily ad-libbed dialogue," iTechPost has learned.

There are speculations that the "unorthodox" method of animation is a major element that supports voice actor Justin Roiland's mumbling and stuttering when he does Rick's voice.

In addition, one of the creative minds behind the hilarious sci-fi series, Dan Harmon, revealed the series' current position during the course of the last few months, emphasizing that the entire team of animators working on "Rick and Morty" take their jobs incredibly seriously.

"We are going as fast as we can my brother. I'm not authorized (nor would I really be able) to give you an airdate for season 3," Harmon said.

Despite a delayed premiere, Rick and Morty along with the rest of the squad are expected to return.

According to News Everyday, the third season will circle on Rick's imprisonment at the Galactic Federation. While being detained, Rick tries to escape through the help of Evil Morty Smith. Mrs. Sanchez, Ricky's wife, will also help him escape the celestial prison to be able to go back to earth where his family is.

There are also speculations suggesting that Rick's daughter Beth and her husband Jerry will finally end their tumultuous marriage. However, none of the plot speculations had been confirmed by the network.
