Sony made three new products available to the public on Tuesday: the SmartWatch 2 and the Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra smart phones, according to PC Mag.

The SmartWatch 2 builds on Sony's first smart watch. "2" promises a longer battery life (the longest life of any smart watch on the market at 3-4 days between charges), an enhanced display that makes possible reading in bright sunlight, and water resistance, among other upgrades.

Like Sony's original smart watch, "2" will vibrate to alert wearers of Facebook messages, missed phone calls, and emails. SmartWatch 2 also offers users the ability to "like" and retweet straight from the device, according to PC Mag.

"Sony SmartWatch 2 seamlessly expands the user experience for today's active smartphone culture," Ravi Nookala, president of Sony Mobile Communications, said. "The average smartphone user reaches for their device more than 100 times per day to check text messages, read emails and social network notifications, and of course, to check the time. SmartWatch 2 makes these core tasks easier, and does much more with apps available, for everything from productivity to fitness and games."

The watch will sell for a little more than its predecessor ($199 compared to $129). It will run on smartphones running Android 4.0 or later, including access to over 80 Android aps - and another 200 offered exclusively by SONY, as per PC Mag. Whereas "1" wearers only had the choice of black or white straps, "2" purchasers can choose from a variety of strap colors. The face is also adaptable to accommodate non-Sony straps.

The mains draws of Sony's new smart phones are the size/width of the screen and the capabilities of the camera. This feature isn't new, but it certainly helps:

The Xperia Z1 is marketed for its size. SONY calls it "the world's largest Full HD smartphone display in the world's slimmest Full HD smartphone." It's screen is 6.4 inches thick, according to PC Mag. The Z1 contains an 8-megapixel camera and prices between $650 and $680 depending on options.

The Z Ultra phone is thicker and has a smaller screen, but boasts a 20.7-megapixel camera capable of "digital camera image quality," according to PC Magazine. Many of its features are designed around its impressive photo and video capabilities, including "live social broadcasting, innovative visual search functions, camera timeshift burst functionalities, and Augmented Reality technology." It sells for $670.
