In "Dishonored 2" stealth is a major tactic that players must employ early on. Here are some pointers on how to successfully evade the guards if you are not prepared to take them down.
Stealth Instead of Full Frontal Assault
A lot of players don't like the idea sneaking around because they view it as tedious and boring. They would rather confront the enemy in full frontal combat. However, there are cases in "Dishonored 2" where stealth is the wiser course of action especially if the player is just starting out in Dunwall.
Player's character is not yet strong enough and the guards can overwhelm it through sheer number. Fortunately, one of the creators of "Dishonored 2," Harvey Smith, gave some helpful tips on how to sneak past the guards.
First, players should familiarize themselves with their surroundings. Search for every possible escape routes such as alleys, windows, doors, balconies, the roof and even tunnels and water ducts. In "Dishonored 2," hiding in darkness is only effective from a distance. A guard can see you once he gets nearer. Players should hide behind the guard or at least hide at an object that blocks the guard's view.
Before opening a door, players could peep at keyholes to make sure that there are no guards inside. If there are too many guards in the streets, it will probably be better on to sneak away on the roof or ledges. Characters can also lean. For example, players can lean on a wall too see what is up ahead. Eavesdropping can also help gather information and even update the mission.
If confronted by an enemy remember to Block his attacks and launch an immediate counter-attack while the opponent is off-guard. The latest "Dishonored" installment allows characters to take defeat opponents without ending their life. Such non-deadly moves include choking, drop attacks and even slide takedown to bring them down. "Dishonored 2" has been released on November 11, 2016, according to Bethesda.
