For Xiaomi users who cannot wait for Nougat official release, CyanogenMod has developed the CM 14.1 specifically for Mi 4.

There are three files that user needs to prepare before installing cyanogenMod verison of Android Nougat: Google Apps Package, TWRP custom recovery and the CyanogenMod 14.1.

There are things to note before installing the software. The handset's bootloader has to be unlocked.

OS update process requires a lot of energy, thus, it is recommended to charge your Mi 4 up to 80 percent. Users have to remember that this software is designed for Xiaomi Mi 4 and not other variant, PC-Tablet reported.

5 Steps to install Android 7.1 Nougat CyanogenMod on Xiaomi Mi 4:

1. Place the zip files to Mi 4 internal storage

2. Turn off the device and reboot by pressing together the volume buttons and the power button.

3. Choose recovery mode and Wipe, and then install CM 14.1

4. Repeat Step 1-3 to install Google Apps file on Mi 4

5. Reboot the device
