One of Huawei's coveted phablet mobile phone, Mate 9, was leaked online with its specs indicating a powerful 6GB RAM for 256GB Internal Storage models. In addition, Huawei has partnered with the German automaker, Porsche, to produce a limited edition Porsche Design Mate 9 phablet.

Specs-wise, Huawei Mate 9 is expected to come in 6GB of RAM from the initial 4GB for the 256GB models. More variants suggest a standard 4GB of RAM carrying 64GB or 128GB, and the top-of-the-line unit with 6GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

Accroding to what we have reported, Huawei Mate 9 boasts a 5.9-inch QHD screen with a resolution of 1440 X 2560, which should maximize its potential for Daydream VR.

As per its internal chassis, the standard Mate 9 will be powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core SoC with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The SoC features the recently unveiled ARM Mali-G71 GPU, coupled with 4GB of RAM.

Under the cameras is a fingerprint scanner that will unlock the smartphone and should work with mobile payment systems.

In its optics department, the Huawei Mate 9 should feature the second-generation Leica dual-lens camera. As the first company to get the Leica dual rear camera setup, the devices will carry a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and a 12-megapixel RGB sensor, both with f/2.2 apertures. The combination promotes improved colour accuracy, depth perception, and contrast.

The rear camera features optical image stabilization (OIS), Hybrid Zoom, dual-tone dual-LED flash, and something Huawei is calling a '4-in-1' Hybrid Autofocus system, with contrast, depth, laser, and phase detection autofocus systems all combined. On the front, the smartphone bears an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture.

After the unveiling of the standard Mate 9, reports surface online with the Huawei company collaborating with the German automaker, Porsche, in delivering a high-end model in line with its Mate 9.

According to iPost, the Porsche Design Mate 9 will have a 5.5-inch full HD curved display with AMOLED capacitive multi-touch touchscreen and a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The standard Mate 9 will have a 5.9-inch display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution.

It will also carry the Germany's Leica Camera, one of the top optics companies in the world, featured in the standard Mate 9. In addition, Mate 9 will have a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, four microphones for active noise cancellation during calls, and infrared blaster for controlling TVs.

The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9, which will only be shipped in a Graphite Black color variant, will be available in the European Porsche Design Stores starting in late December at a price tag of $1,533, while the standard Mate 9 is pegged at $776.
